List Servers

Also known as 'Majordomos' list servers provide a rapid way for you to generate an email to a mailing list that is self maintained.

The general features of a list server are that a visitor to your site may subscribe to the list (your newsletter for example), or un-subscribe. By enabling the list server to read email that is sent to it's inbox the list server can automatically process subscription requests. Generally the word 'subscribe' or 'unsubscribe' in the subject line is all that is necessary to perform the requested action against the sender's email address.

More sophisticated list servers allow you to manage the list in various ways and provide more sophisticated interfaces to list subscribers to manage their subscriptions.
