Shell Access

When your hosting account permits shell access, it allows you to connect to your account using a terminal emulator via Secure Shell or SSH over the TELNET protocol. 

This enables you to interact with a console exactly the same as though you were at the host computer. 

We use and recommend PuTTY.

Using shell you are able to readily access and administer the full functionality of your hosting account to manage security, files, backups, and all other aspects of your account.

Because of the highly technical nature of this feature, we enable it only on accounts where we expect to assist or support our clients directly.
